Digitization Projects

Frank Beck

A digitization project entailing scanning of Museum historical photographs dating to the 1920s and 1930s is currently underway. These photographs were pasted into scrapbooks for presentation to the Museum benefactor, Ellen Browning Scripps. The photographs document collecting trips in southern California and Baja California, as well as exhibitions and events in the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park.

The daily diaries of Laurence Klauber have also been digitized and are available at the Internet Archive.

Digitizing large fragile maps from our historic map collection is also underway.
