Current Volunteer Opportunities
All volunteers are required to attend a general volunteer orientation. We are recruiting only for the positions listed below. A personal interview will be scheduled if your interests and qualifications match these opportunities.

Docents, Canyoneers, and Museum Whalers Needed
Now recruiting for Docents, Canyoneers, and Museum Whalers—training starts in early fall. The Docents, Canyoneers and Museum Whalers are committed groups of volunteer naturalists who bring the Museum’s message to school groups, the general public, and passengers onboard the Hornblower Whale and Dolphin Watching cruises. Each year, the Museum trains new volunteers through a combination of lectures, field trips, and practice sessions. To apply, please complete the Volunteer Application

Science Volunteers
Volunteers in our science department perform important tasks which maintain the Museum’s extensive collections. Opportunities include specimen preparation, collection inventory, and database entries. Currently we have no openings in our science departments.

For volunteer opportunities at other cultural organizations please visit the Cultural Volunteer Managers Council website.
